Intern Update

Okay, so I know I am bad at updating this thing. My life really is not all that exciting. It is full of working with 27 crazy children, going to church activities, and hanging out with my friends. I guess I can update you about my internship, so here it goes.

Teaching 3rd has been busy, but it truly makes me happy. I love being able to see children grow, and I love that I can make a difference in their lives. They have also made quite an impact on my life. There is nothing greater than having 27 children who love and adore you. The letters I receive from some of them are so sweet and funny. One girl wrote, "I think you look exactly like Ariel because you have red hair, you're beautiful, smart, sweet, kind, nice like a mermaid and really on task." How could that not make me laugh and feel loved at the same time. I also had a boy sing a song (with great country twang) to me the other day. They truly are adorable. Obviously I have times where many of them drive me nuts, but I just have to remember that they are children with tons of energy.

My internship will be over in May, but hopefully I will get a position here next year. They might have a couple spots open in first grade, so I could possibly get one of them. I have to start looking at other schools and school districts just in case I don't get a position here. I do plan to stay here in Utah even though my sister does not approve, but there aren't job openings in the Northwest. I am also learning to like it here even though I don't really like snow.

Today I had my last observation from my BYU Clinical Faculty Associate, and I did awesome!!! I am so glad to have them over with. Now I just have to finish my Teacher Work Sample before I can graduate, but I am almost done with that.

Well, that about sums up most of what is going on in my life at the moment! I hope you all are doing well!

Well it sounds like your life is fun and busy! I'm glad you have the patience for 27 kids, that's not a job everyone can do!!! And yes, I contest on this staying in UT, but you have to have your own life and earn a living. I'm still contemplating graduation...I'll let you know soon. LOVE YA

It all sounds so good and I am so happy that you are adjusting to all of those kids! I think that a young teacher brings something with them in a classroom and kids feel that they can connect more with you than someone that is much older (and possibly cranky) ha, so enjoy those kids and I am so glad that you are wanting to stay ( :

We had a "CRATER" honeymoon than you!

We stayed in Midway, UT for the first 2 nights of our honeymoon. Around our little Swiss get away, were all of these little crater pond things. You can see our little cottage in the background of this picture. On Monday we went to the Crater at Homestead. The water is warm and very blue. My Engagement Story

In order to tell the story of our engagement, I will have to first tell you the story of our first date. For those of you who don't know, Andy and I were set up on a blind date by my Aunt Mary and Uncle Fred (more Mary). We met on August 27th when he picked me up for our date. Andy was well prepared for our first date. He planned on going up to canyon for a picnic and walking around the falls. He even had picked up some yummy sandwiches, but I didn't know about that then. Well, it happened to be raining that day, so he gave me the option of going to this authentic pizza place. I chose that plan since it was raining. We went to the pizza place where I ate pizza with corn on it for my first time. After dinner he started driving me back home, and then he noticed that it had stopped raining. July 2025 - Independence and Friends.

July 4 - Parade time!  The usual, candy, chats with neighbors and lots of fun.  After dinner that night, we went to the Melodrama with Rob and Mallory Lyman.  They came and spent the weekend of the 4th with us. It was fun to have friends over and talk, but the kids struggled with not having alone time.   Sunday July 6 - When we got home from church we couldn't find Goldie, but we found blood stains on the driveway and front steps.  After a few minutes she came to Melissa with a big wound in her front leg.  She'd been out while we were at church and someone shot her in the leg.  She must have been bothering other animals.  We got the bleeding stopped with styptic powder and pressure, then Melissa spent most of the afternoon snuggling her to keep her from licking it.  I took her to the vet the next day, they left the bullet/pellet in the leg and just gave her a week of antibiotics.
