July 2025 - Independence and Friends.

July 4 - Parade time!  The usual, candy, chats with neighbors and lots of fun.  After dinner that night, we went to the Melodrama with Rob and Mallory Lyman.  They came and spent the weekend of the 4th with us. It was fun to have friends over and talk, but the kids struggled with not having alone time.   Sunday July 6 - When we got home from church we couldn't find Goldie, but we found blood stains on the driveway and front steps.  After a few minutes she came to Melissa with a big wound in her front leg.  She'd been out while we were at church and someone shot her in the leg.  She must have been bothering other animals.  We got the bleeding stopped with styptic powder and pressure, then Melissa spent most of the afternoon snuggling her to keep her from licking it.  I took her to the vet the next day, they left the bullet/pellet in the leg and just gave her a week of antibiotics. Melissa loved how calm and snuggly she was all day Sunday,...

June 2025 Our 14th anniversary, fun and games, and FIRE!

June 3 - Tuesday morning was one of Hannah's riding lessons.  She is spending the summer learning with Nikki Safrit, and loving it.  This sleepy girl is excited to wake up early, when it is for riding lessons.  June 4 - Happy Anniversary!  I mean, enjoy some time with the kids at a library summer science lesson!  Melissa and I went to the temple to celebrate our 14th anniversary. We were there with several couples, all above 65 years old.  The sealer asked the oldest couple (in their late 80's) how long they'd been married, and it was only a few months!   They were 2nd and 3rd spouses, kind of funny. They performed the sealing of her mother to her father, who had died in World War 2. Then we went for Mexican food in Monticello.  June 7 - Saturday was Dawn Lyman's baptism and the kids were happy to go support her.  June 10 - Tuesday morning Melissa and the kids all hung out with Lynette and grandkids after Hannah's lesson.  Here they...

May 2025 Georgia exploration and a visit to Grandma Flick

May 4 - Sunday dinner to celebrate Grandma's birthday. It became a hedgehog dinner (no hedgehogs were harmed in the making of this dinner). Local goat cheese formed into a hedgehog and lined with sliced almonds and Melissa decorated this cute hedgehog cake.  The kids helped grandma bake it a few days earlier.  May 11 - Sunday, after church we hit the road to drive to Grandma Flicks.  We had a tire blow out on the back of the van on the way, so that certainly added to the drive time. It was mother's day so Dale and Susan hosted a big dinner at their house.  Grandpa and Grandma Aurich had been staying with Grandma so we all got to enjoy the evening together.  While waiting for dinner, the kids and I went rock climbing around the house.  They live in such a beautiful area, Williamson, AZ.  Happy Mother's Day 2025, 4 generations.  Monday the 12th we flew to Atlanta, Georgia and Tuesday May 13th we visited the Georgia Aquarium.  Melissa and the ki...
