July 2025 - Independence and Friends.

July 4 - Parade time!  The usual, candy, chats with neighbors and lots of fun.

After dinner that night, we went to the Melodrama with Rob and Mallory Lyman.  They came and spent the weekend of the 4th with us. It was fun to have friends over and talk, but the kids struggled with not having alone time.

Sunday July 6 - When we got home from church we couldn't find Goldie, but we found blood stains on the driveway and front steps.  After a few minutes she came to Melissa with a big wound in her front leg.  She'd been out while we were at church and someone shot her in the leg.  She must have been bothering other animals.  We got the bleeding stopped with styptic powder and pressure, then Melissa spent most of the afternoon snuggling her to keep her from licking it.  I took her to the vet the next day, they left the bullet/pellet in the leg and just gave her a week of antibiotics. Melissa loved how calm and snuggly she was all day Sunday, but doesn't think severe blood loss is a good long-term solution.

Saturday July 12 - Jam time.  The kids and I made jam again this year with our raspberries to earn money for toys and Lego.
Friday July 18 - Grandma Flick was in a rehab in South Jordan after a week of weakness while staying with Aunt Tracy.  It was fun to see her and explore around the rehab.

That night we spent the night at the Lyman's new house in Clearfield.  We stayed up way too late playing a board game about dragons, but had lots of fun.

Saturday July 19 - we went for a hike to the Adams Canyon Waterfalls.  It was a nice hike and the falls were neat, but Finn must not have slept because he was in a horrible mood. Which put me in a pretty bad mood too.  We ended the day after the hike and took the kids back to Nana's

Before going to Payson to watch cousin Avery play the Big Bad Wolf at an outdoor theater!  Avery did a great job, she brought big attitude and excitement to the roll.

Saturday July 26 - In San Juan county Blanding runs the Independence Day celebrations and Monticello the Pioneer Day party.  This year we realized that we'd never taken the kids to Monticello, so we went to the parade and the festivities in the park.  It was actually pretty fun.  They dressed in Pioneer clothes and really enjoyed themselves.

Monday July 28 - The girls dance studio did a flash mob style recital at the pool.  During the life guard break all the dance classes performed on the grass.  Lily wasn't comfortable with that many people watching her, so she sat out. Hannah did a great job in the oldest class.

Tuesday July 29 - 4H Lego Robotics club was a fun weekly activity this summer.

Wed July 30 - Kitty gourd!  Lily sure loves to turn anything into a cat.

Meanwhile Hannah was practicing her sewing to make Barbie outfits.
