May 2014; Mother's Day, BBQ, Water play, and work

2 days before "Mother's Day" is "Totally awesomist wonderful woman day." This year to celebrate, Melissa got gift certificates to the local massage therapist.   For Mother's Day 2014 we went to visit my mom in Lindon, and made her Brie & Apricot Puffs. What to do when you have beautiful weather, a beautiful girl, and a bored dog on a Sunday afternoon? Picnic dinner at the reservoir. Zoe has been kind of a wimp when it comes to swimming, today she went after a stick enough to get all muddy and her head went under a few times. Second year of the garden in this spot.  Here's hoping for a delicious harvest. Blanding is a very close-knit, family friendly town.  For those of us with no immediate family in town that can make holidays a little lonely, so we are going to try to invite our family-less friends over whenever we can. Memorial Day 2014 we had the Noyes' and Tyler over for a BBQ on the new patio.  We had comp...

Melissa and I chose to divide and conquer one weekend.  Melissa's cousin, Rob, married his longtime girl Miranda in Draper and my coworker got married in Monument Valley.  Melissa enjoyed getting to see her family. And even got to be Uncle Dale's wedding date for the day. Awww... curly cousins!   The grandmothers of the groom. Before my wedding in Monument Valley a friend helped me dispose of Melissa's old computer.  Thank you Fred Talker. For much of the late winter and early spring Melissa and I worked together on the Gun Room.  We replaced blue carpet with laminate, put on baseboards, painted, wired for sound and video, did crown molding, refinished ceiling fans, and turned a 60 year old gun crate into a coffee table. I like the new Gun Room. The guns are currently put away in locked cases. My brother James is going to make some decorative metal doors for the bottom left rack. Due to our no good, very ba...
