Early Spring (2015) San Juan Explorations.
We started with a trip to Butler Wash Indian Ruins (3/9/15). It is just a 1 mile round trip from the road to the ruins, so it was perfect for an afternoon outing. We spent the morning working around the house and rewarded ourselves with a leg stretch. There had been recent rain and some of the little rain pools were still wet. Some of the bigger ones too. Zoe and I dropped down over this little wall to play near the water. Dog photo-bombed. The ruins are across a canyon and the trail just leads to a lookout on the near side. 3/29/15 we repeated the hiking and water theme with a walk and a pick nick around our town drinking water reservoirs. Zoe was quite impressed with how much water was still flowing into reservoir #4 (we returned 4 weeks later and the water level had come all the way up to the frothy mouth of this stream.) It is a 1.7 mile walk around the reservoir, Zoe chased a stick most of the way. ...
