1st Family Reunion in July: The Aurich Family June 29-July 5
While I was driving with Andrew, and caravanning with Trisha and family, down to Utah, Andy was hosting our first guests. Mark and Ashley got to our house on Sunday, a two day drive from Houston, TX. Mark's back was hurting him, and his doctor told him not to drive for long periods, not to go hiking or off roading. Well, that is pretty much what we had planned for the week. Andy started him off easy by taking them shooting while waiting for the rest of us to show up on Monday, June 30th.
On Tuesday the whole gang went hiking at Natural Bridges National Monument. Grandma Flick even came along. In this picture, we have Jeremy, Trisha, Eli, Mya, Ava, ourselves, Andrew, Ashley, Grandma, Mark, Dad, and Darlene.
Some of the guys, and Ashley, went on a more strenuous hike with heights that I didn't want to deal with.
We found a family friendly hike. Grandma even enjoyed a breeze blowing through her hair.
The Frey Family and their new habitat.
Here I am with some crazy mountain man! :)
Miss Mya loves her uncles.
Ashley and I enjoyed one of the hikes, but my knee didn't let me continue with the guys. She was kind enough to hang out with me.
The guys found a pond with some tadpoles.
Andrew was the family photographer, but we made sure he got in a few of the pictures. The arches here were amazing!
On Wednesday, just us young girls enjoyed a trail ride with my friend Lynnette leading the way. It is my kind of "girls' day out!"
Trisha and I let our horses (Lady Moon and Teak) rest before they had to turn around for home. Love spending time with my sis!
Ashley got to ride a horse named Itty Bitty. I think it fit her just right.
All 3 of us together, enjoying a beautiful day out in nature.
Occasionally a small group would go Geocaching.
I think at least one person took the toys out everyday.
The rest of us had fun, too!
Friday, July 4th, Trisha and Andy ran a 5k. Zoe jumped out sometime in the morning before we were up, and then Trisha found her while she was running the 5k. Zoe was hanging out with a police officer, of course! I am so proud of Trisha and Andy. They worked hard to be ready for this race.
After breakfast, it was time to enjoy the parade. These girls had brand new shirts to wear! They are pretty cute.
This little guy is a stud. I think the kids get their looks from their cute parents!
Dad and Andy tailgated this parade!
Mark and Ashley enjoying no humidity.
This is how I enjoyed the parade...
I got to ride in the parade on a horse named Rusty! He was a great horse to ride for the first time. It was very interesting to ride in a parade, especially when the already slick blacktop gets covered in water by the fire trucks.
That evening, we went to the park and enjoyed some booths. Then we hurried over to the horse games that the 4H Club put on at Lynette's arena. The show started later, but my friend, Nikki, took Mya out for a ride on her horse (I don't have that picture).
Eli had front seats.
We had fun tailgating.
These tough guys and cute gal, also enjoyed the show.
That night we made some yummy fruit pizza.
The next morning, Jeremy decided to take the kids for a ride before they left.
The bearded Andrew and Andy!
We forgot to take another group shot before Trisha and family left.
On Saturday morning, everybody left us to an empty home (for just a few days). We then spent the next couple of days cleaning for Andy's family to come and mess it up. It was great to have so many family members in our home. We sure fit a lot of fun into that week. We loved it, and can't wait until they come back to see us!
