The beginning of November 2014, "Getting mighty crowded in my sky"

Melissa bought me Firefly: The Game for my birthday.  We played it with our friends Albert and Pam, and now I can't get enough.  Yes, the setup is as complicated as it looks. No, it doesn't take very long to learn. Thank you Melissa, awesome present.

Annual purge the pipes day! Sometimes I wish I worked for the city public works department and had a fire hydrant wrench.

November 8th we went for a little horse ride on the Sand Canyon Trail in McElmo Canyon. Yeah, it lasted 13.2 miles and 6:47 hours.  It was tons of fun, but a very long time in the saddle.

Zoe loved spending so much time with horses who weren't afraid of her. She was very well behaved.

I love all the variety in our area.  We are about 75 minutes from home and on our ride we passed through red desert and up into evergreens.

The day was warm and sunny and trees were just starting to change colors.

Melissa and Tammy, they are so happy aren't they? That is because neither of them realize the difficulty which lies ahead. Melissa's horse, Itty-bitty, almost fell down the mountain. Melissa was leading across a narrow rock pass and Itty-bitty slipped and fell on her belly. Lynette had to help pull her back up. Tammy's horse caught some of its tack on a tree and broke the cinch. Lucky for Tammy the break happened in such a way that the saddle stayed tight and she didn't have to walk the whole way back.

Lady Moon was an awesome horse for me.  She was tall and solid (helped me to not feel like I was hurting her) and she was quite responsive (made me look like I knew what I was doing).

Lynette Stephens is Melissa's friend and yoga instructor and my computer support customer (I'm kind of tech support for all Melissa's friends though). She knows lots of great places to ride and is a wonderful person to spend time with.

One of the awesome views.

Riding into the sunset (and back to the trailer ~7 hours in the saddle and we're still smiling).
