June 2019 Happy Birthday, Mothers Day and Halloween Nana, we're going to San Francisco.

When are we going to be done posting about this darn rental house?  Well, I guess I was working on the walk way. We installed sprinklers along the walk so that we could plan beautiful shrubs to guide you in.  Not happening, less landscaping = less work. 

6/2 - We hit Cottonwood wash with Grandma Workman

It was cold, like it always is, but we had fun.

6/5 - Then we headed for Lindon, on our way to San Francisco.  I had a conference for the American Diabetes Association and I talked Melissa into coming along.  We decided to invite Nana.  No way Melissa was going to venture into a strange city with three toddlers in tow.  So we bought Nana the flight for her birthday, and mother's day, and Halloween, and, Nana,  if you keep complaining about the cost, I'll keep adding holidays!.

6/6 - Then we hit the air! The twins did pretty well, and I don't remember Lilian being a bother, so she must've been okay too. 

One of the nights we went to a fun Creole place and everybody loved it.  Looks like Hannah took the last pull off the family bottle.  

6/7 - Melissa and Nana took the littles wandering through the city. 

Even to the beach!  San Francisco was in a heat wave!  It was in the 90s the whole week and our place didn't have AC. So a cold ocean was worth the walk.

After a few days (6/9) I was able to join them in the evening for a visit to the wave organ.  I don't remember it working very well, but it was a fun walk anyway.  Nana was a trooper. Pushing, carrying or holding hands to transport 1 or more children. 

6/10 I missed some of the conference (nothing interesting in the schedule) to take an afternoon with the family. Hannah had decided that the ocean was the most frightening thing every and wouldn't go near it today. 

But we got a few nice photos in front of the Golden Gate anyway.  Just ignore the terror on her face. 

We wandered the market at Pier 39. We made a wonderful lunch buying a loaf here, cheese and quince there, chocolates around the corner, and ham by the slice.  

6/12 as we neared the end of the trip the kids were home sick and decided that Melissa was the only thing that could make them happy. 

6/14 After we got home, I took a couple days off work and Melissa went to girls camp!  She spent the day on the mountain and came home at night for 3 days.  She had a blast and we survived. 

We discovered that the kids loved a few kinds of Ramen which we bought at the Asian market in Orem. 

6/22 we ended the month with one of our many family walks.  We hit the Blanding elementary school playground and Hannah's hair exploded!.  I think she is gaining mutant powers.

We had a "CRATER" honeymoon than you!

We stayed in Midway, UT for the first 2 nights of our honeymoon. Around our little Swiss get away, were all of these little crater pond things. You can see our little cottage in the background of this picture. On Monday we went to the Crater at Homestead. The water is warm and very blue. Many people go scuba diving here, but we just swam around. Ok, so I didn't swim too much. I more of just floated around. They make you wear a life jacket, which meant I got to just relax. I was so relaxed that I even look dead in this picture. We had a nice woman in a wheelchair take a picture of us. She took a lot more than one. She kept telling us to do something different. I decided not to put all of the pictures on here. She really wanted to take one of us in the tunnel. Here we are outside of the tunnel. My Engagement Story

In order to tell the story of our engagement, I will have to first tell you the story of our first date. For those of you who don't know, Andy and I were set up on a blind date by my Aunt Mary and Uncle Fred (more Mary). We met on August 27th when he picked me up for our date. Andy was well prepared for our first date. He planned on going up to canyon for a picnic and walking around the falls. He even had picked up some yummy sandwiches, but I didn't know about that then. Well, it happened to be raining that day, so he gave me the option of going to this authentic pizza place. I chose that plan since it was raining. We went to the pizza place where I ate pizza with corn on it for my first time. After dinner he started driving me back home, and then he noticed that it had stopped raining. July 2025 - Independence and Friends.

July 4 - Parade time!  The usual, candy, chats with neighbors and lots of fun.  After dinner that night, we went to the Melodrama with Rob and Mallory Lyman.  They came and spent the weekend of the 4th with us. It was fun to have friends over and talk, but the kids struggled with not having alone time.   Sunday July 6 - When we got home from church we couldn't find Goldie, but we found blood stains on the driveway and front steps.  After a few minutes she came to Melissa with a big wound in her front leg.  She'd been out while we were at church and someone shot her in the leg.  She must have been bothering other animals.  We got the bleeding stopped with styptic powder and pressure, then Melissa spent most of the afternoon snuggling her to keep her from licking it.  I took her to the vet the next day, they left the bullet/pellet in the leg and just gave her a week of antibiotics.
