October 2019 Part 1. A visit to Seaside, OR and life up to Halloween.

10/4 - Lilian looks pretty happy, huh?  I don't think she realizes just how far we are driving.

Again, no idea how far Seaside is from Blanding.

I'm grateful for little towns with fun parks.  I'm writing this blog 11/22/20, during the middle of the SARS-CoV-2 resurgence.  A random stop at a public park today is almost a political stance... yikes, the difference a year makes.

10/5 - Melissa decided, just days before, that we needed to crash the Clift siblings weekend in Oregon.  Trisha's family did the same and we had fun watching conference, playing games and enjoying family.  The weather was surprisingly different 8 weeks before our usual Thanksgiving visits.

Actually playing on the beach, digging in the sand for hours. Instead of the usual 20 minutes fighting the wind just to say, "we went to the beach."

Enjoying that famous pacific northwest sun with Trisha.

Snuggles and smiles with Grandpa and Grandma Clift.

Cool dude Finn hiding from the sun an showing his baby sister how to get dirty.

Sister time with Shanda and Trish.

Blue skies and bright sun squints... are you sure this is Seaside?

10/6 - It was fun to see everyone and enjoy time, games and food.

We participated in a blessing for Grandma and Grandpa. The kids had decided it was time to move them into a nursing home.  They talked it through with Grandpa while Grandma enjoyed some time downstairs with her daughters, so she wouldn't get too nervous.  They ended up moving in December.   The blessing was a great experience.  Grandpa Clift was grateful and expressed that he was done on this earth.  He stayed a few months more, to get Grandma settled into her new home.

Our kids really seem to enjoy their time with cousins, what a blessing that they warm up to them after a day together and can disappear in play for hours.

10/10 - We stopped to see Aunt Tracey when we were coming home. Our kids got to play "with" Melissa's cousin Candace's daughters.

Hannah did a little better on the "with" part.  She had a blast.

Lilian is a little more comfortable playing with the "neighs" at Nana's house.

Playing some crazy game.  It is fun to sit down with Grandad.

10/12 - We went out to Phantom with Jon and Belle.

Finn learning to drive the tractor.

Our budding equestrian.

10/13 - Zoe tore her CCL (dog equivalent of ACL) on a jog.  We decided to go jogging in the morning before starting the drive to Seaside.  Zoe was going to stay home and be watched after by one of the neighbors.  She started limping in the middle of a 3 mile jog.  So we dropped her at the vet in Moab for a check up and kenneling on our way out of town.  She now has an artificial ligament and the surgery seems to have aged her 3-4 years.  We were able to visit her on the way home through Moab, but she wasn't quite ready to go home yet.  We went back and picked her up a few days later.

10/16 - Preschool at the fire station.
