July 2020 Part 1 Independence Day and the way to the beach.

Melissa is such a teacher... turns 4th of July into a teaching moment.

It's that time of year... Zoe's winter coat has finally fallen out and she needs a light jacket to stay warm.  Oh wait... people are lighting fireworks early and she needs her "thunder shirt" to help her relax.  Our big, bad, scary German Shepherd... always needs a little extra loving when the world seems to be exploding around her

Blanding city, like many, cancelled the 4th of July activities due to COVID-19.  So community members organized a parade.  It was a little shorter than normal, but fun anyway.

Nikki riding for freedom.

Great shady spot to snuggles.

The kids didn't want to give up their flags yet, so we took them out by the big flag for fun pictures.

Evening fireworks with the Lyman's.

They had a kid's movie night in their front yard because the city firework show was cancelled.  We figured with all the fireworks in the neighborhood it was no use trying to put the kids to bed.  Turns out "Night at the Museum" was way to scary for our kids.  We went home and they were asleep at a pretty decent time.

Lazy days of summer.  Just snuggling and reading.

Packing for the beach and some how mommy's cereal spilled.  So everyone is helping clean up.

We talked through the risks with Grandma Flick and she decided she wanted us to visit on our way to the beach.  During the drive down I had the sun streaming in my window and I thought I was getting a fever.  I grabbed the laser thermometer from the first aid kit and sure enough I was 100.9*... what to do now.  Turn around, give up on the whole trip?  Melissa was talking about just staying the night in the trailer... not a chance in Arizona in July!  Well, turns out that when the thermometer is in a trailer at >100* it reads your head at >100*.  Turns out I wasn't sick, I was just HOT.

Saying hello to grandma Flick's deer.

Hiding in the only shade at the park by grandma Flick's house.

Aunt Susan wants to read books for an hour?  Sure, go ahead!

Goodbye grandma!  We love you!
