March 2021, traveling and twin birthday, mid-pandemic

"What a boring month!?" said Lilian.  Just sitting here lining up glass beads while waiting for the twins to finish preschool. Don't speak too soon!

Uncle Mark came to visit for a few hours, Sunday evening to Monday midday.  He wanted to visit Grandma Flick and knew he couldn't be that close and get away without a day at his mom's house.

The kids all really took to him well.

Melissa seemed to like him too.

He was leaving midday, after arriving Sunday evening.  So we had lunch with him at Grandma's before he left.

We had been debating a trip with Rob and Mallory Lyman's family, but the weather was being unpredictable.  We decided to just book it and spent a night in Moab.

We had fun hiking one of the shorter trails

We got caught in rain/hail/snow.

Then it dried up quickly and we kept walking.

After a difficult night for our kids, they do not do well sharing a room and being put to bed all at once, we went to the Moab Giants. Life size dino replicas and some exhibits. Finn got really scared in the 3D glasses walk through a dark "digital aquarium."

But they had fun visiting the dino models.

It was fun to have an excuse to get out of town for a day, and fun to visit with the Lyman's.

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Happy Birthday twinners!. Mom made a dino cake for Finn.

and Grandma Workman made a ballerina cake for Hannah.

They had friends and family come to share the time with them.

They were spoiled rotten.

We'd had this Thomas the train set in storage for at least 3 years, since Alco or Shopko went out of business in town.

Happy Birthday, I guess Hannah is a little done with all the posing.

2nd birthday! We went to Nana and Grandad's house a few days later (3/25) to share a birthday party with Nana.

This was Nana and Grandad's chance to spoil the twins.

We spent an afternoon at the Lindon City Park with Holly and her family.  My dear friend Bret passed away in July 2020, and with all the COVID restrictions, this was the next time we were in Lindon.  It was so much fun to visit with Holly and kids, we eventually went back to her place to continue the play date.  I got to tell her girls some stories about their dad in high school.  Our kids all had a blast.

Melissa and dad went jeans shopping, they were out for a couple of hours running their errands.  I'm lucky to be married to someone who is so comfortable being part of my family.

Then we had a birthday dinner for Nana on Saturday night, 3/27.

I love how happy the kids are to just absorb stories.

The kids had a blast spending time outside and in the play room.  They are so independent at Nana and Grandad's, it is awesome!

We went to spend a few hours with Fred and Mary too.  They had a small load of stuff to take to Chris and Bill from her parent's house.  Including a cool bench made by Grandpa Clift.

Final goodbyes... for a while.
