August 2021 Melissa's birthday, trip to Logan and school starts!

Grandma treated us to snow cones at the county fair in Monticello.

Lilian's second trip to the dentist, she actually opened her mouth this time!  Got x-rays and everything, it looks like a horror show in that head full of adult teeth just waiting to grow out.  She did great and seemed very comfortable the whole time.

We put a dining table in the man cave and put the Lego bricks out for the kids to be able to build anytime they'd like.  It has been a good outlet for them.

Happy Birthday!  Melissa decided she wanted a trip to the temple for her birthday.  We had dinner at the Thai place in Monticello and went to the temple.

August is a great month, the county fair, Melissa's birthday and the ward "garden party" at the stake property.  The kids decided to go explore and we ended up playing at the Monticello side playground for a half hour with some of the kids from that side's party.

Playing at the Number's house after visiting the kittens, waiting for them to grow up old enough to come home with us.

Andy had a conference in Logan, so we spent a couple days in Lindon on the way up.  We spent an evening with James and Chevon's family.  Avery was such an awesome friend, she kept our kids entertained the whole night.  Not hard to do in their house, Lego room, lots of cars, dolls, and video games.  We had a blast just hanging out all evening.

Melissa's party at Nana's, mint cookies and Andes mints on the chocolate cake.

Just enjoying the day with Nana on the swings.

Nana's secret crazy wiggle motorized car track.  This was a blast for everybody.

We went back to the splash pad in Vineyard that we visited a couple months before for part of Nana and Granddad's 50th anniversary weekend.

Meeting new cousin Dani.

Don't go getting any ideas Melissa and Hannah!  No babies allowed at our house.

Cousin Colt is a hugger!

On our way to Logan, love you Nana and Granddad.

I had three days of meetings for USU, I thought it was some kind of teacher training, it turned out to be a "Welcome back to school" hip-hooray end of summer thing.  Not a worthwhile trip.  Exploring Logan, in search of dinner.

Spending a rainy morning at the Logan library, which was next door to our hotel.

The pool had a great big shallow section, the kids had a blast.

We found the USU creamery!

Wandering the temple grounds.

They came to pick me up from my last meeting, we were at the USU hanger at the airport and one of the USU flight people invited Melissa and the kids to see the planes while waiting for me.

The Logan zoo.

There were good moments and tough moments.  I think I was in a bad mood because I felt the meetings were a waste of time (I bet they were more fun for the fulltime employees who were seeing friends from other campuses), so I was short with Melissa and the kids. We still found some fun explorations though.

Back home to feed the kittens

Brother Numbers, Martin, fixed up one of the old power wheels and the kids had a blast running up and down the road.

This big girl is ready for her first day of preschool at Miss Lana's!

Everyone dressed for first day of school.

Finn and Hannah's first day of kindergarten homeschool!

Cali the kitten came to live with us.  Mama cat and the 4 other kittens disappeared, Cali was the only one left.  Melissa scooped her up and brought her home before she could disappear, too.

Melissa started a homeschool Facebook Co-op.  She started it off by having a water day.  3 other families showed up, and all of the kids enjoyed the activities.

Cali got her first bath.  The 4 other kittens were found under a neighbor's shed.  Fluffball was brought home to live with us immediately.  She was hungry and scared the first day.  She has made herself at home ever since.

Though the kittens do get tired of this little monster carrying them around and putting them in buckets.

Melissa and the kids did a unit on deserts.  This was their art project. Melissa even had fun painting.
