June 2022, 11th wedding anniversary and playtime.

Do you call it an addiction when Melissa just needs to crochet and finds an excuse to make something?  It hurts her neck, back and hands, but she loves it.  This octopus and turtle are headed to Fred and Revina's son and daughter to celebrate his adoption.

June 4th, 2022.  11 years together.

June 6th, the end of our anniversary date. Top Gun Maverick. Fun movie, but the theater is too loud.  Why does it need to be so loud?  Why am I so old?  I'm a deaf old man, complaining that the theater is too loud.

Another evidence of Melissa's crochet addiction.  A "chill pill" to help me relax, my gift on our anniversary.

Finley collected a bunch of old nails out of the field.  So rather than just throw them away, we did a 2-3 week experiment. We tested different solutions to figure out which would clean the rust the best.  He checked on it for a few days, turned a fan on to see if moving air would help, forgot for a week or two, then we finally dumped them out and found vinegar was the best.

6/16, out for snow cones with Melissa.

Saturday the 18th, exploring Westwater canyon.

Ending up at Nations of the Four Corners Dwellings.

Monday 18th we went to Moab for a new upright freezer.  Melissa's been wanting one for months/years and this became a charitable trip.  We gave the old one to a refugee family moving from Ukraine to Blanding.  We stopped for grilled cheese at The Giddy Piggy, a food truck/trailer in Moab.  It was pretty good.  We split pulled pork, Buffalo chicken and a smores grilled cheese.  Pulled pork and Buffalo chicken were really good, but big enough we should've just got one. The smores was weird. Marshmallow fluff, chocolate and graham cracker crumbs, in grilled Texas toast with powdered sugar.

June 22, library day.  During the summer the library provides a "meal" to the kids.

Enjoying a pile of snack foods for lunch... also Finley peed on the rock wall while eating lunch this afternoon.  Silly boy.

6/24 Grandma Workman the pool teacher.  All our kids and many others came to Grandma to be entertained and disciplined this morning.

Saturday June 25th.  Well, I spent 3 evenings trying to repair the basement washing machine.  I ordered 2 rounds of parts, got them installed, and tested it, only to learn that the transmission gears were stripped. So Finn and I headed back to the appliance store in Moab.  Should have bought a washer on Monday, but at that point we were waiting for the $15 part to arrive in the mail to fix everything.
We stopped at Hole N The Rock petting zoo.

Camel.

On the way back, we climbed Wilson Arch. Finn needed a moment to contemplate life, from the top of the hill.

June 29th Melissa and the kids met the playschool group for mountain time. They built lean toos and had a picnic.

It was so hot and dry this season that the raspberries seemed to come on early.

The kids really enjoy having grandparents in town.

Kind of last minute plans meant we ended up at the Bluff Dwellings Friday night activity.  June 30th was White Mountain Apache Crown Dancers.  It was scheduled from 7-8 PM, started around 7:20 and we left about 8:15.  The kids had fun, but everyone was exhausted and they didn't seem to be anywhere near finished.

Exhaustion in a public place is one way to get the twins to snuggle with dad.
