April 2024 Twin's baptism and spring is in full force, water, animals and fun.

4/3 Melissa and the kids have been collect supplies for a fairy garden, it is coming along nicely. 

4/4 Snuggling a newborn bunny.  Someone's future dinner. 

4/5 Friday night fun, the elementary school play. They performed in the high school auditorium.  The kids had lots of fun watching and didn't even notice the bat flying around during the second half. 

4/6 Saturday General Conference. 

We went out for a hike across West Water Canyon during the conference break and ran into the Rob and Mallory Lyman family. 

4/9 Mallory Lyman took baptism photos for the twins. 

4/13 The actual splash day!  Hannah was first, so Melissa could wrap her up to watch Finn.  They both were fun all through the meeting and ordinance. 

They invited lots of kids to come and watch, they all sang the closing song together. 

All the grand parents were able to be there, and Uncle Fred!  Local friends too.  The twins were really happy to have so much support. 


Finn found this new smile for many of the baptism photos, not sure were it came from. 

We then had everyone over for lunch. 

4/14 Grandpa Aurich trying to teach Finn to read a multimeter after church. 

4/17 New homeschool board game. 

4/18 The girls were off doing something, so we did a Kiwicrate together and made a printing press. 

4/19 Friday Friend-day!  Had other homeschoolers over for games and fun. 

Then off to Emily Laws house to her to practice her face painting and meet Will's horny toad. 

4/20 Finn helped with the lawnmower for a few minutes, not sure why, but he did a couple of laps of the front yard.  Need to document this for posterity.  Who knows what'll become of lawnmowers and lawns with climate change. 

After finishing the yard, we made sushi!  He was waiting to make if for a couple of weeks, so we did.  The girls had pizza for dinner. 

4/22 Monday at Cottonwood wash. Mallory and her littles came. 

Emily showed us a new spot to visit, didn't have as much "beach" but had more variety of deep and shallow areas. 

Finn was in the water nonstop for the whole time.  We found a few deep spots.  And caught a frog to play with for a few minutes. 

4/24 The twins traded rooms so Melissa redecorated.  She turned the old horseshoe hanger into a flowered/twine hanging frame. 

4/25 Melissa is one of Hannah's activity day leaders, this Thursday's activity was a hike at White Rocks.  They collected wild flowers and "pressed" them in packing tape. 

4/26 We tried to have a game night with Braden and Macy, our new neighbors, but eventually the kids joined in. Yes, Melissa has a cat on her head, it is part of the game. 

4/28 Celebrating grandma's birthday a couple of days early as a family. 

4/29 End of the month volcano experiment.

We had a "CRATER" honeymoon than you!

We stayed in Midway, UT for the first 2 nights of our honeymoon. Around our little Swiss get away, were all of these little crater pond things. You can see our little cottage in the background of this picture. On Monday we went to the Crater at Homestead. The water is warm and very blue. Many people go scuba diving here, but we just swam around. Ok, so I didn't swim too much. I more of just floated around. They make you wear a life jacket, which meant I got to just relax. I was so relaxed that I even look dead in this picture. We had a nice woman in a wheelchair take a picture of us. She took a lot more than one. She kept telling us to do something different. My Engagement Story

In order to tell the story of our engagement, I will have to first tell you the story of our first date. For those of you who don't know, Andy and I were set up on a blind date by my Aunt Mary and Uncle Fred (more Mary). We met on August 27th when he picked me up for our date. Andy was well prepared for our first date. He planned on going up to canyon for a picnic and walking around the falls. He even had picked up some yummy sandwiches, but I didn't know about that then. Well, it happened to be raining that day, so he gave me the option of going to this authentic pizza place. I chose that plan since it was raining. We went to the pizza place where I ate pizza with corn on it for my first time. After dinner he started driving me back home, and then he noticed that it had stopped raining. July 2025 - Independence and Friends.

July 4 - Parade time!  The usual, candy, chats with neighbors and lots of fun.  After dinner that night, we went to the Melodrama with Rob and Mallory Lyman.  They came and spent the weekend of the 4th with us. It was fun to have friends over and talk, but the kids struggled with not having alone time.   Sunday July 6 - When we got home from church we couldn't find Goldie, but we found blood stains on the driveway and front steps.  After a few minutes she came to Melissa with a big wound in her front leg.  She'd been out while we were at church and someone shot her in the leg.  She must have been bothering other animals.  We got the bleeding stopped with styptic powder and pressure, then Melissa spent most of the afternoon snuggling her to keep her from licking it.  I took her to the vet the next day, they left the bullet/pellet in the leg and just gave her a week of antibiotics.
