Melissa, Andy and the kids' Blog

I don't know why, but we are playing with hedgehog stackers.  Stack them up, last person to add one without knocking them off is the winner.  It is fun, Nana's house always has weird games. Linden's 1st birthday, the best part of all our treatments and doctor's visits in Utah county was seeing family more often than normal.   We got her a wooden wheely pig.  Every 1 year old's favorite toy!  We figured it was easy to play and durable. Grandad and Linden. The ultrasound at 8 weeks. TWINS!!! I knew it!  I kept telling everyone that Melissa's blood test showed more than one baby, and I was right and then I was scared. Hannah on the right and Finley on the left. Ok, this was a weird month, no central theme, no big plans.  Just GO, GO, GO!  August was what you could call a real month. We dealt with the day to day stuff. Starting with a Miles attack! I was in town for the fertility process (harvest and fertilization of the eggs) and we had a nice family Sunday dinner.  Then I drove home, because work was crazy. The garden was getting big.  I wanted corn this year and Melissa was nice enough to help me. Melissa stayed in Lindon that week and enjoyed some time with her Aunt Mary Clift. August 6th at 3:50 PM we had 2 tiny white dots placed in Melissa with the hopes that one would stick around and grow up.  (spoiler alert: we named the left dot Finley and the right dot Hannah) Melissa is happy to have made it to this point.     During the month of July, I lived with my in-laws while doing fertility treatments.  This meant I was away from home and Andy for a few weeks.  Before I left, Blanding had some stormy days.  Zoe loved her "Thunder Shirt."  It helps her feel safe, but I think she just does better when we are home with her during a thunder storm.  She normally jumps over our 6 foot fence during a storm.  She probably is trying to run away from it, but doesn't realize that it is everywhere.     The storms helped my keyhole garden and the weeds around it to grow.     When I went to Lindon, I got to hang out with Lindsey's (my mother-in-law) horses (Dakota and Kaylee) quite a bit.  They are a little weary of new people, so I worked on them getting used to me.  After a few days they trusted me a little more.  I even helped feed them and brush them.  It was a dream come true.  Someday I'll have my o...
