Time away from Andy...July 2015

During the month of July, I lived with my in-laws while doing fertility treatments.  This meant I was away from home and Andy for a few weeks.  Before I left, Blanding had some stormy days.  Zoe loved her "Thunder Shirt."  It helps her feel safe, but I think she just does better when we are home with her during a thunder storm.  She normally jumps over our 6 foot fence during a storm.  She probably is trying to run away from it, but doesn't realize that it is everywhere.

The storms helped my keyhole garden and the weeds around it to grow.

When I went to Lindon, I got to hang out with Lindsey's (my mother-in-law) horses (Dakota and Kaylee) quite a bit.  They are a little weary of new people, so I worked on them getting used to me.  After a few days they trusted me a little more.  I even helped feed them and brush them.  It was a dream come true.  Someday I'll have my own horses.

What was great about being in Utah County, was the fact that I got to hang out with my sister-in-law, Chevon, and her 3 kids.  One day we went the Lindon Pool.

Another day we went to the Natural Curiosity Museum at Thanksgiving Point.

Then we went to Cabella's.

Another day we took the kids to Temple Square.  We met up with Jon and Lindsey at the Family History Center.  They loved learning what Grandad and Nana do every Tuesday.  We also met up with James, their dad, who was working on a project up there.  We all went out to lunch and wandered Temple Square.

I was pretty sure someone would end up in the water.

And I was right!
She was a trooper, and we still have a great time looking around.

One day I met up with some of my Provo teacher friends for lunch.  Both Kathe and Tami were my mentors at Amelia Earhart Elementary.  We had a good time catching up and hearing about each other's trips over seas.

I hung out with the horses some more.

I had lunch with another mentor, Kathy, on another day.  The hardest thing about moving to Blanding was moving away from family and friends.  Thankfully, I now have a lot more new friends. I feel very blessed to know so many great people.
