October 9-13 Finger Lakes, NY through New Haven, CT. On our own

After Niagara Falls we headed east. We stayed 2 nights on a Christmas Tree farm in Hemlock, NY.  It was a small apartment on top of a barn.  We saw lots of fun stuff around.  The weather was a little overcast and rainy 10/9 so we had a slow morning then headed to an airplane museum.  Captain Finster J Bayless (The Flying Burger) made ACE almost immediately. While Hannah was one of the few women admitted to the combat ranks of the Aircorp. The kids saw lots of airplanes, Jeeps and equipment.  They were able to play on much of it and sit in some neat airplanes.  Back at the Christmas Tree farm, we got to know the fish in the ponds. They had fish food and the kids enjoyed watching them eat. We explored the fields (in the wet grass) and Melissa loved it! The 10th was sunny and dry.  So we hit the road.  We saw some beautiful scenery.  We visited the Joseph Smith farm and Sacred Grove.  Umm... it was nice, we had a p...

10/1/17 General Conference with the Bayless family.  Hannah wasn't sure what we were watching, but she was happy to watch with us.  This little girl can't get enough TV time.   Cousins are the best! Colt and Finley were pretty good friends.  10/2/17 Melissa's stomach was off.  I blamed pre-travel jitters, until she told me she was also 7 days late.  Not fair, we are supposed to be infertile.  When we are ready for more kids, we have to discuss it, plan it, save up and schedule appointments.  It isn't supposed to happen just because Melissa comes home from a weekend away in Cleveland.  How fitting, the night before we fly to Cleveland, we find out that we conceived on the night after Melissa came home from Cleveland. Look at her eyes!  She is so happy... almost as if she'd been wanting this to happen! 10/5/17 Well, Hannah found her favorite part of Ohio.  She was pretty happy to have a little horse head of her own. ...

September 2017. Mark's wedding in Ohio and Nana and Granddad in Blanding

9/1/17 We went looking for the original pond where the Bluff pioneers performed their baptisms. We aren't sure if we found it, but we had fun. Nana helping with breakfast. 9/2/17 Ohio - Melissa and Trisha on their way to Mark's house. It was a surprise.  He didn't know they were coming for the wedding.  Meeting her newest nephew. Aunts love babies! The feeling looks mutual. With mom away, we decided to learn to climb the rock wall at Visitors Center Park.  They did so well. When mom's not around to be cautious, we can do hard things.  Also, while Melissa was away, she decided that I should build one of my models. I sent this picture to Melissa, so that she'd know what kind of fun she was missing out on. September 3rd, Mark and Chrissy married at their home in Chagrin Falls after Luke's baptism at Chrissy's family church (Catholic).  Mark, Luke and Andrew. Melissa and her dad waiting for the ceremony to start.  Getting r...
