May 2018 Part 2, here comes Lilian!

Image
May 21, 2018: Our last couple's photo.  Lilian comes in less than 24 hours.   May 22, 2018 4:39 AM: Registering at Blue Mountain Hospital, last picture of Lilian on the inside. This whole natural conception stuff was new to us... and "skin to skin" was new to BMH.  Melissa wanted to hold Lilian, in the OR. She told Dr McCullough ahead of time and they promised to figure it out. She was the first one to do skin to skin in the OR at BMH. -Andy   I had a scheduled C-section for Lilian.  They only let moms do V-bacs if they had previously had a vaginal birth.  I was a bit nervous since I had a panic attack during the twins birth.  I prayed a lot that I wouldn't feel claustrophobic and have a panic attack and talked about it with my doctor.  We had to arrive early in the morning (4:30a.m.) to get me checked in and prepped. We went to the OR around 7 a.m. My surgery was supposed to last around 45 minutes. Riley Pugh, the anesthesiologist,...

May 2018 Part 1. Life before Lilian.

May 9, 2018: When the twins were born, I built a shop.  With Lilian coming soon... we bought a new rental house.  We were looking for houses for Chris and Bill as they got ready to move to Blanding and we realized that there might be a good one for us.  We ended up buying 333 W 600 S, and odd modular home with a cement slab addition.  Then did a bunch of rehab to the main house. Added a wall in the addition, and made it a duplex!  We figured it made more sense to rent a 4 bedroom house and a 2 bedroom apartment compared to a 6 bed house.  It was a lot of work, but Melissa got to exercise her design muscles... and Andy got a sore back. May 13, 2018: Happy Mother's Day!!! Dark chocolate torte with pistachios and raspberries. Back to work, cabinets, countertops, etc. From Lowe's in Farmington (which also means Three River's Brewery for lunch and dinner, yum!) May 19, 2018: Excited for a baby sister! Having some fun at "dad's o...

March and April 2018, our last memories as a family of four.

March 16, 2018: Hannah got RSV! Which lead to some pretty intense snuggling sessions.   It was pretty scary, but she eventually got used to wearing the oxygen and after a few days, she even got to take her O2 outside to play! This was the tail end of her recovery. She was healthy just in time for...   March 23: Birthday presents! The twins were briefly Sesame Street fanatics so Melissa made Elmo and Cookie Monster cakes. That's my boy! Don't loose a single crumb! March 24th Melissa threw an adoption shower for a couple of our friends. Fred and Revina adopted a beautiful little girl.  She's just a little younger than our kids.  Fred and Revina have been friend as long as we've lived in San Juan, they are the couple who gave us Zoe. Melissa organized the shower with some of Revina's college friends and it went off great.  A mixture of cute treats and silly games with fry bread, roast meat and starting 2 hours late. It was a perfect blend of ...

February 2018, a "babymoon" and regular, wonderful, life

Image
Feb 2, 2018: Melissa planned a surprise babymoon.  The last getaway before the baby comes.  This also happened to be the first getaway since the twins came. She took me to Midway, and I found a dairy. It was SO hard to choose which cheeses to buy.  They had a 6 year old white cheddar. It was awesome, I miss it now that it is gone.  You can't even tell she's pregnant, might as well be a photo from the first two days of our honeymoon. Great food at Wildfire Smokehaus and Zermat's.  The trip was wonderful.  We didn't realize how much we missed each other.  The twins stayed with Nana and Granddad, and I'm pretty sure we didn't think about them until the 2nd day when we both said, "I haven't thought about the kids in a day, its great!" Melissa took me to the Ice Castles too.   Feb 4: Hannah ended up starting an ear infection during the trip, but that just made her snuggly. Savanna and Marissa stayed the night to help take care o...
