Our week at the U of U after the babies were born.

Melissa got to meet Hannah a mere 11 hours after she was born. They did have a few seconds together immediately after Hannah was extracted, but Melissa only vaguely remembers it.

After a few minutes with Hannah, it was time to meet Finley in the NICU.  By the time we made it to him he had graduated from several of his extra tubes and machines and was soon to move to the intermediate nursery with his sister.

Andy receiving training on how to change a girl diaper.  He'd never done it before, but became a master in the next few days.  (Melissa changed one of her children's diapers for the first time the day before they were discharged.)

Nana meets Hannah.  Finley was being moved from NICU to intermediate during this time.

"So tired... who is this?" Andy.
It was Hannah.

"What is this thing on his head? Umbilical cord? Babies are weird."

Neighbors! Together again! Get used to it, you've got roughly 18 years left.

SO LITTLE!!!! But great wifi reception with their little antennas.

Hannah was not a fan of her first bath.

Finn was much more accepting of the process.

Grandparent snuggles. Keith and Darlene drove up for the weekend to meet the babies.

Ninja Finn

Look what I can do! Two at once.

All the nurses told us that Finley was the only baby who loved being in the light box.  As soon as they turned it on he would instantly calm and remained quiet throughout his treatments.

Melissa wasn't the only one who got some topless photos this week.  Hannah was a little cold.

Perfect timing for a William's family reunion.  Janell (our travel buddy/cousin) was in town the week the kids were born.

Rachel loving on Hannah.

We really hoped the kids would be released before Easter, but it didn't happen.  So Nana brought Easter to them! They each received a bunny carrot.

Finley took his bunny sun bathing with him.
It was tough to have to spend Easter in the hospital. We really thought on Friday and Saturday that we'd be leaving and be able to spend Easter with family. However, Finley's bilirubin levels were too high and they decided he needed time in the light box and neither of them had passed their car seat tests.  They had to maintain O2 saturation for a full 2 hours in the seats because of how far from Salt Lake we live.  The hospital staff were great though and the food was really good, too.  Melissa receive good food throughout her time at the U Hospital.  I enjoyed a few trips to the cafeteria as well (great salad bar and good Indian food once a week too).

Snuggles.

Finally getting ready to go home... well, Nana's house is close enough.

Time to meet cousins! Indy was not impressed

Jonathan and Brendan thought they were pretty cool

Uncle Adam with Hannah.

Marissa was sick (the reason everyone wore masks) so no snuggles.

Rock on!

Finally home, in Blanding, in a basket.

Stop! Hammer time!

Family picture.

First walk. There are babies under those blankets.
