| July 4th was a busy day. We woke up in Blanding, dressed in our patriotic clothes and walked down to main street for the parade. 7/4/18 |
This was the first time the twins understood that by running out onto the street, they could get free candy... and Dad would only eat about half of it. Why do we teach our kids to run into the road for candy?!
| Melissa's friend Nikki, riding a unicorn in a tutu. |
| Then, by dinner time we were in Utah County at Josh and Mandy's house for a BBQ and water fights. Busy day! |
| And "catching up" with family. |
| We said good night right as the fire works started. The twins hadn't napped, we had a 6 week old, and Melissa hadn't napped. So we headed to Nana and Granddad's. |
| 7/5/18: Then we lost a child in the hollyhocks in the front yard. |
| 7/6/18: Aunt Belle got to hold Lilian for the first time. |
| We had Lilian's blessing July 7th and we were able to get most of the family together. |
| Even Melissa's Dad, Darlene and Grandma Flick were headed up to Yellowstone so we could catch them. |
| Lilian made a lot of people happy that day, as she does every day. |
| And made Hannah and Finn question the value of a "little sister," as she does every day. |
That afternoon, we drove to Yellowstone! Holy cow, busy week. 7/8/18: We have a print book of photos from this trip, so we aren't recording everything in this blog. Finn took to Uncle Jeremy really quickly.
And Hannah isn't crying while being held by Aunt Trish, so that's saying something.
Sisters.
Cousins. Hannah seemed to enjoy being with the big girls off and on throughout the trip. Ava and Kiera were great with her.
Snack break!
Grandma Flick was a great baby snuggler when Melissa needed a break.
Showing off our matching shirts, made by Darlene and Trish.
Bison!
Heading home and saying goodbye.

| July 11, 2018: This is were things got crazy. I had a conference in Indianapolis that weekend. So Melissa dropped me at the airport on the way through SLC and headed to Lindon. She and the kids spent a few days with Nana and Granddad, while I learned about Pharmacy Tech Education. Utah State University conned me into setting up a Pharm Tech training program and a big requirement was attending the PTEC conference. |
| I'm pretty sure Nana wasn't offended at all to have Melissa and the kids back for a few days so soon. |
| 7/12/18: Granddad was a great big kid babysitter |
| 7/13/18: Aunt Belle helped Melissa take the kids to the park |
| They had a great time. |
| 7/14/18: On the last day of my conference, while waiting for my flight I killed a few hours at the Indi Motor Speedway. No racing, but a neat museum. |
| The sisters-in-law hit Mandy's parents pool for the afternoon. |
| 7/15/18:Getting back to business. Mr Finn is going to need to see you in his office. |
| 7/16/18: Back home in Blanding, working on the duplex. |
| 7/21/18: Melissa and Lilian helping me with installing the flooring. FYI, we ended up hating this flooring and wanting to replace it within a month of installing it. It started swelling and shrinking day/night and would create gaps. As of the writing of this blog (5/31/20) we haven't yet... but maybe once the current tenants move out. |
| 7/22/18: We made it 60 days! Maybe we'll survive this after all. |
| Not sure why, but tonight I decided to treat the family to a homemade strawberry tarte with Crème Anglaise. |
| 7/28/18: Grandma and Grandpa Workman came for a couple days. They brought their truck with the first load of "moving to Blanding." Non-essentials to try to clear out the property and sheds. It was fun to have them for a few days. |
