December 2019. Getting ready for Christmas at home.

12/1 -  With Lily mobile, we tried protecting the tree this year in the play pen again.  The kids all did a great job helping to decorate.

It was nice to have an afternoon to work on it.

And an evening to admire their work.

The kids got to decorate Christmas cookies at the library, and I don't think anything made it home to share with dad.

12/4 - The USU Christmas party was fun and low key.  Very different from our other parties (church, UNHS, BMH).

December 6th we took the kids for a game at Canyon Country.  They seemed to enjoy it a little more this year.  Maybe sometime they'll really grow a passion... or tell us to stop trying.  It was a fun evening.

It is nice to be needed and play together.

After bowling we came home for a movie/dinner-in-the-living room night.

12/9 - Finley got sick and had to miss Mommy and Me Santa at the library.  So I got to take the girls. This was the single moment in time when Lilian wasn't screaming.

Shaving cream, a solid hour of fun and...

a deep cleaning for the table.

12/12 - Finley's breathing trouble progressed and we actually took him to the ER.  It seemed like it started with a tickle fest which resulted in aspirated vomit. We went to the ER one Sunday evening because he was gasping and accessory breathing.  He ended up with chemical pneumonia (irritated his lungs with the aspirate), after just a few days of oxygen and he ended up all better.  I guess dad shouldn't tickle so much.

12/15 - Just a few days later Hannah and Lilian were acting sick and Hannah threw up once or twice in a single day.  They both seemed to recover quickly.

And 2 days  later Grandma Workman came to make graham cracker mangers.

Melissa does an excellent job of keeping the kids working on crafts and projects.  They are very often busy with any number of careful reused "stuff" crafts.

12/18 - By the time Santa came to the library Story Time, all the kids were well enough to go and get freaked out.  Lucky for Melissa, Hannah was okay with him, because Melissa ran out of knees with her shy children.

Wow!  That is a big smile from a girl who struggles to talk to Grandma somedays.

December 18th was also the 7th Ward Christmas Party. This is always a great party... we have a wonderful ward full of supportive friends and neighbors who really helped us feel at home in Blanding. Great to have ward grandparents who the twins will go to without question and have even sat with once or twice on a Sunday Melissa and Lilian couldn't be at church.
