April 2020 As the pandemic begins to rage, we stayed home and stayed busy!

The spring of 2020 watched the spread of SARS-CoV-2 all over the world.  It would still take another month before things really started going crazy in the south half of San Juan County.  The reservation was hit hard.  In Blanding, things were still pretty normal.  Chalk art on the patio.

A little boy who loves is sisters so much that it often makes them mad.

And a 2 year old trying to learn her new balance bike.  Hannah and Finn had bikes for about 2 hours before we realized Lilian needed one.

They got pretty good at circles in the garage.

As I was looking through pictures from April 2020, there was a recurring theme... "hiking."  Family hikes, friend hikes, Melissa with Lynette hikes, lots of hiking.  so I chose just a few pictures.  The twins, Zoe and I enjoying the view over Westwater Canyon.

Melissa trying to smile while freaking out that Lilian keeps trying to go closer to the edge.

Melissa when hiking in Westwater Canyon with Lynette and her friend, Launna.

Melissa turned the whole sidewalk into a hopscotch/follow the leader game.

General Conference April 2020 was fully online.  Recorded music and no audience at the conference center.  The kids didn't seem to notice.  They were just happy the TV was on 10 hours on Saturday.

No clue what this was, but Finn go weird bumps on his ear. Tried a telephone video visit, Dr Nielson said put a mild steroid on it.  It went away after a week.  Having kids is weird.
Hiking around Recapture Reservoir. We had a picnic and hike. Zoe swam and the twins tried hard to get as close to the water as possible.

They also discovered that "they could do it!"  The climbed to the top of this rock, so many times.

Lilian needed a little help.

Making Easter cookies with Grandma Workman

Their very own empty tomb.

Painting Easter eggs.

That should be enough eggs.

Happy Easter Grandma Jack, read us a book!  We have loved having Don and Shirley Jack as adopted grandparents.  They have supported us and given our kids such love.

Wow, April 11th was a busy Saturday!  Color the eggs, visit the Jack's and build a bird house.  Hannah and Finn really go into this idea.

They both helped with measuring and cutting.  With glasses, ear muffs and dad they were able to run a jigsaw without getting scared.

I'm not sure any birds ever moved it, maybe it was too late in the season or maybe it was too close to the ground, but it was a fun project.

Happy Easter! Sunday 4/12.

They made their dot paint shirts with Melissa and they really loved getting to chose their own colors.

Aw.... we're so cute.

Grandma and Grandpa Workman came to make sure no eggs were left behind.

And to spoil the stinkers.

Grandpa Jack gave Melissa and the twins hiking sticks.  I wasn't going to include ANOTHER hike in April, but they were so excited about these hiking sticks. We sent a thank you card to him with a picture of Hannah and Finn at the top of a mountain with their sticks, and Lilian shouting "wait for me" from the bottom.  Don showed up with a stick for her a day or two later.  Melissa usually ends up carrying all the sticks for most of the hike, but they still love them.

This year Melissa decided it was time to rebuild the keyhole garden, so we destroyed it and started over.

Cottonwood Wash with Rob and Mallory Lyman.  It is cold, but fun!

Aunt Trisha's presents arrived toward the end of April.  I didn't hear any complaints about a second round of birthday presents.

He got 5 whole shiny hot wheels.
