December 2019 The rest... including Christmas

For the first time in the history of our blog, we are joined by guest authors Hannah and Finley.  They will be contributing some of the photo captions.  12/20 - It doesn't matter what time of year, it is always princess time.  Hannah dressed up her rocking horses, too.  12/22 - Hannah and "squinty" Finn. This little cutie gave us a few seconds for a "Christmas Candid."  Melissa and Lilian, make me look good.  12/24 - This year we did something new, Christmas Digestive Biscuits.  We used an English digestive biscuit recipe to make some Christmas cookies for Grandma Flick. That was her favorite treat during our time in the UK together.  Melissa with a little snow in her hair, looking happy and relaxed.  For Christmas Eve with Grandma and Grandpa Workman we decided to have a Bethlehem dinner.  We ate finger foods and simple things they might have had in Christ's day.  And the kids got to eat in Grandma's living room, while watching a s...

12/1 -  With Lily mobile, we tried protecting the tree this year in the play pen again.  The kids all did a great job helping to decorate.  It was nice to have an afternoon to work on it.  And an evening to admire their work.  The kids got to decorate Christmas cookies at the library, and I don't think anything made it home to share with dad. 12/4 - The USU Christmas party was fun and low key.  Very different from our other parties (church, UNHS, BMH).  December 6th we took the kids for a game at Canyon Country.  They seemed to enjoy it a little more this year.  Maybe sometime they'll really grow a passion... or tell us to stop trying.  It was a fun evening.  It is nice to be needed and play together.  After bowling we came home for a movie/dinner-in-the-living room night.  12/9 - Finley got sick and had to miss Mommy and Me Santa at the library.  So I got to take the girls. This was the single moment in time when Lil...

11/1 - We have another dirt head.  Lilian loves playing in the dirt and sandbox almost as much as Finn.  Zoe's recover is slow and she is required to be on a leash while outside. 11/2 - We decided it was time to get coats and boots and gloves off the floor so we're making a spot.  Also, Hannah and Finn earned their mermaid certificates. 11/5 Melissa arranged a group of ladies to go see the Downton Abbey movie.  They had fun, but strangely didn't do it again... Back in the dirt.  This is the best time of year.  Not too hot or cold and the days are still long enough for fun evenings outside.  11/9 - I'm batman!  Lilian went through a few days were she was happy to put this mask on and run around for a few minutes at a time.  At the USU Native American Powwow at the Blanding Wellness Center. 11/9/19. We were worried the kids wouldn't like it or would be scared by the noise, but they all loved it and stared at the dancers in amazement.  Gran...
