July 2019 Part 2 The Pennsylvania Bayless' come to Blanding and we make another visit to Lindon in the same month.

7/13 - Melissa found out about a horse for sale and got in touch with Nana.  We went to meet Paulo and take some pictures.

7/17 - And suddenly... cousins! Library activities with Ruth (Sam was somewhere around, too).

Then driving practice with Samuel.  We went out in the rhino for him to get the feel behind the wheel. 

Hannah and Ruth were inseparable. 

7/18 - We did a BIG ride.  We borrowed Chad's RZR with little kid jump seats so we could fit 10 (Lilian stayed with Grandma Workman). 

It was a big ride.  We were on the trail for several hours and there were several spots Melissa was NOT happy about. 

Dusty and sunburned, but we made it through!  

That evening, 7/18/19, Nana and Granddad arrived to meet Paulo and give him a test ride. 

Melissa, Amanda and Lynette went out with them and road some fields and roads.  


7/19 - The twins are certified Mer-people. 

After their graduation we went to House on Fire Ruin.  It was a 2 hour walk, at noon in the middle of July!  It was fun, but the hike back sure was longer than the hike in.  We got all straggled out. Finn with Nana and Granddad, Melissa and Hannah in the middle, (took a wrong turn and ended up having to climb out of a ditch) and I carried Lilian out on my shoulders. 

It was a fun hike, but it was hard on everybody.  Next time, we'll go in the morning, but Hannah and Finn needed their last swim lesson. 

At the ruins, still all smiles. Nana and Granddad headed back to Lindon from the trailhead and we headed back to our place for some R&R. 


And for princess time. 

Jormanda's family and Melissa and the kids did Bluff Fort the next day.

I'm riding a cow?  Why? Jordan and Amanda went back to Lindon after Bluff 7/20. 


Then, the next day 7/21. We went to church, then grabbed Lynn Steven's horse trailer and picked up Paulo. He gargled a little on the drive, but wouldn't drink much the 2 times we stopped.

7/26 - Headed for Father's and Son's 2019.  Finn is 3 and we are spending the night!  Our first night away together, GOOD LUCK!

We grilled steaks over the fire, then ate in the trailer because it was starting to rain.

The weather cleared up enough for stories at the fire. 


Calvin Black put in a copper pipe with a rubber hose in the fire, which makes bright blue and green flames.  Somehow as we sat and talked and watched the fire, Finn managed to snag probably 15 cookies from people around us.  


7/27/19 while we were making breakfast the next day Finn had an awesome time chasing around with Cameron Palmer's kids in the meadow at The Grove.  

These cool kids ended the month at the dentist.

We had a "CRATER" honeymoon than you!

We stayed in Midway, UT for the first 2 nights of our honeymoon. Around our little Swiss get away, were all of these little crater pond things. You can see our little cottage in the background of this picture. On Monday we went to the Crater at Homestead. The water is warm and very blue. Many people go scuba diving here, but we just swam around. Ok, so I didn't swim too much. I more of just floated around. They make you wear a life jacket, which meant I got to just relax. I was so relaxed that I even look dead in this picture. We had a nice woman in a wheelchair take a picture of us. She took a lot more than one. She kept telling us to do something different. My Engagement Story

In order to tell the story of our engagement, I will have to first tell you the story of our first date. For those of you who don't know, Andy and I were set up on a blind date by my Aunt Mary and Uncle Fred (more Mary). We met on August 27th when he picked me up for our date. Andy was well prepared for our first date. He planned on going up to canyon for a picnic and walking around the falls. He even had picked up some yummy sandwiches, but I didn't know about that then. Well, it happened to be raining that day, so he gave me the option of going to this authentic pizza place. I chose that plan since it was raining. We went to the pizza place where I ate pizza with corn on it for my first time. After dinner he started driving me back home, and then he noticed that it had stopped raining. We decided to try the canyon anyways. We went up to Canyon Glen and started walking the trail towards Bridal Veil Falls. For those of you who know me well, you know that I can easil...

July 2025 - Independence and Friends.

July 4 - Parade time!  The usual, candy, chats with neighbors and lots of fun.  After dinner that night, we went to the Melodrama with Rob and Mallory Lyman.  They came and spent the weekend of the 4th with us. It was fun to have friends over and talk, but the kids struggled with not having alone time.   Sunday July 6 - When we got home from church we couldn't find Goldie, but we found blood stains on the driveway and front steps.  After a few minutes she came to Melissa with a big wound in her front leg.  She'd been out while we were at church and someone shot her in the leg.  She must have been bothering other animals.  We got the bleeding stopped with styptic powder and pressure, then Melissa spent most of the afternoon snuggling her to keep her from licking it.  I took her to the vet the next day, they left the bullet/pellet in the leg and just gave her a week of antibiotics.
