February 2023 - Valentine's celebrations, snow and surprise grandparents

2/2 - To help prepare for our UK trip Melissa started lessons on castles, knights, royalty, etc. So the kids made swords and shields.

2/3 We made Appelpaj from our Sweden Atlas Crate.  It was delicious!  So we made extras in smaller containers and took them to Maurine Oswald and family and Grandma and Grandpa Workman.  Then the kids gave a mini lesson on what they learned in daddy school about Sweden. It was fun to get the kids out and have them present on their learning.

2/4 - Grandma and Grandpa Aurich came with Great Grandma Flick for a quick visit.  Grandpa helped the kids try to make a snow fort.

2/5 - Sunday morning it was already time to go.  That morning I was called in to the ER and immediately after this photo I was called to the hospital and spend the next couple of hours there.  I ended up getting to church just in time to help Melissa teach her class. In my jeans and t-shirt.

2/11 - The next Saturday was Lily's daddy date.  Not sure what she did to earn it, but we went to patio for an ice cream and chat.

2/13 - instead of dance class, they had a Valentine's party.

All my valentine's all dressed up.

2/13 - 11 PM. Melissa posing with the new stuffies she crotched for the kids for Valentine's Day.

2/14 - Valentine's snow! Yummy.

I was going to take Melissa out to dinner in Monticello, but the roads were horrible.  We already had a babysitter, so we got subway and went to the basement.  Melissa emailed a link to an online dance lesson the week before, so I bought it for her to go with the blog book (behind her head) I'd planned as her gift.  We learned a couple of spins and dips.  It was lots of fun.

2/17 - Speaking of fun dates.  On Friday, Lilian had a date with Traxton from preschool.  She wanted the other kids out of the house.  So we took balls and cones to the wellness center and played for a few hours.

Lily didn't even want mom around, but Melissa managed to sneak this picture while hiding on the stairs.  Lilian changed her outfit several times during her date.

2/20 - Monday, the roads were dry enough to get the electric truck out for a spin.

2/21 7:42 PM - It finally happened.  Finn's had a loose tooth for ages.  He wouldn't let us wiggle it and didn't wiggle it enough himself.  Finally, he was playing with his new stuffed shark and somehow, it pulled the tooth!  He's smiling here, but only because of the popsicle.  He was screaming and crying about the tooth.

2/25 - Saturday daddy school.  Hydraulics with the kiwi crate.

2/27 - USU 4-H family dinner.  Make your own bread then white bean soup.  This photo was taken at 7 PM, and our rolls are just about to head to the proofing box.  It was a fun evening, but waiting to eat until 7:45 was not fun. The rolls were yummy and I liked the soup.  The kids didn't want the beans.

2/28 - Tuesday's mommy school was adding and subtracting with popsicle sticks.  Looks like Hannah's having fun... and Finn would rather just have a popsicle!
