March 2023 - Twins turn 7 and there's a fire.

3/4 - Hannah and Finn were invited to a Harry Potter birthday party.  They had lots of fun and loved the wand and glasses... and had no clue who Harry Potter is!

That afternoon we went to Monument Valley to show a new pharmacist around.  He and his family came to visit to decide if they wanted the position.  It was a REALLY long evening: the drive, slow restaurant service and small talk.  Even more difficult for their family as their kids are usually in bed before 7.

3/11 - Melissa got the crafting bug.  She decided it was time to refinish a desktop in the AirBNB.  She's mixing the epoxy.

And here's the final product.
The twins jousting, as part of their UK lessons. 3/14, not sure how much jousting there will be on our trip.

3/17, St Patrick's Day.  It was sunny and I was off work. So I made a rainbow picnic platter and we went outside for lunch.

Sunday 3/19 - I guess someone was a little too quiet during quiet time.  Lilian came down with drawings on her face, hands and legs.  It might have taken a couple of days to wash off.  At least it wasn't on the walls.

3/23 - Thursday, the twins turned 7 and have a superhero/police birthday.  They each were allowed just 1 friend.  So we ended up with a "super girl" and a "not dressed up bad guy"

Melissa planned a fun solve the case/obstacle course. They were handcuffed by bad guys and had to eat a donut with no hands, they solved a riddle and shot dart guns to unlock a door...

They leaped tall buildings in a single bound. Even though we made them do it 2-3 times to try to get a picture.

Finally they caught the villain, cat woman, with silly string and "rope."

Melissa did a great job with the cake, again, this year.

3/24 - Then the next day our neighbors house burned down. Finn ran to tell Melissa that he heard sirens. She looked out the window and saw Martin and Elida Numbers' house on fire.  She ran outside to see if they were out.  They were safe, but the house was a complete loss.  Melissa kept Ellie with her almost the whole day, trying to comfort her while they watched the house burning from our kitchen window. The relief society President, Julie Castellon, came over and they both took Ellie  to get her meds and some food.  Chris watched the kids.  That evening one of their sons arrived and they all stayed at another child's Airbnb.  Andy went over the next day to help rescue some materials from inside.  They were blessed to save many photo albums and some valuables (her wallet survived inside of the melted purse), but they lost so much.

3/26 - Sunday Grandma and Grandpa Workman came over for another birthday dinner... and brought the family favorite chocolate zucchini cake.

3/28 - Tuesday: We drove to Lindon because Andy had to be in Salt Lake Wednesday for a pharmacy recruiting event. During the event Melissa, Nana and the kids went to the museum at Thanksgiving Point.

Andy entertained pharmacy students and begged them to come take a 3 month temp job over the summer.

They had fun exploring ancient life.

And getting messy.

Until it wasn't fun anymore... but got scary!

3/30 - Thursday: Nana and Grandad watched the kids and we went to the Mt Timpanogos temple.  We hadn't been to the temple in a few months because Monticello was closed.  It was fun to have a date and return to the temple.

3/30 - Hannah has been itchy... for a long time.  So we took her to an allergist. He declined skin testing because her skin reacts to scrapes.  So we did blood tests... she was not a fan.  Turns out she's was positive for sugar cane... so that'll be easy to avoid.

3/31 - Happy birthday Nana!  We put together a party at Jon and Belle's clubhouse.  We got most of the Utah County crew there, even Sam (attending BYU).

We had it catered by a new Brazilian restaurant because Nana messaged me a few weeks earlier to tell me about it and we decided we wanted to try it.  Her party was fun and the little cousins had a blast attacking each other with balloons for an hour.
